The 2016 Homestuff hunt is underway and I’ve made a shelving and drawer set especially for it.
This low-LI, mix & match, set comprises of a bookcase, bedside table, small chest of drawers and a cube shelf. With light wood and eggshell blue accents, I wanted to bring you something that looks towards Spring and yet is neutral enough to be a versatile addition to most homes.
You can find this prize (somewhere) in my main store:
The much anticipated annual Home & Garden Expo opened its doors (and by ‘doors’ I mean 10 sims worth of amazingness) today for its 2016 incarnation. The Expo is arguably the hottest event for lovers of all types of things for the home, from the buildings themselves to landscaping items, furniture, decor and just about anything else you might think of.
Best of all, this event also raises money for Relay For Life of Second Life which fundraises for the American Cancer Society. Proceeds from special items from each designer are donated to this cause – you can read more about this on the Home & Garden Expo blog and also on the Relay For Life of Second Life blog.
For my part I have made several new releases and am also taking part in the hunt and gacha events (read more about these here.)
First up are these Welsh Dressers – I believe this traditional furniture item is known by a few names but, to me, it will always be the ‘welsh’ dresser. Dressers vary widely in style, modern and antique alike, but I have opted to create my version of the Anglesey/North Wales type as that is were I spent much of my childhood. Modifiable and left empty for your own goodies this is one of the more intricate items I’ve made so far and is available in a light or dark wood:
To continue the theme; the national flower of Wales and a symbol of hope used by many cancer charities, few things are more cheerful than the bright yellow daffodil. So here are some jugs full of them:
Both the Welsh Dressers and Jugs of Daffies are donation items, with 100% of all sales made during the event benefiting RFL.
Finally (for this post, anyway!) and also new for the Expo is these crate-load of plates:
(these are not a fundraising item but were made to complement the above designs)
For the gacha I have made the above framed pictures, all featuring original artwork. I’m a sucker for a good (ok, really bad) pun and I couldn’t resist bringing you these cute critters along with some of the best/worst animal ones I’ve stumbled across. The pictures themselves were created from my own sketches & then embellished with licensed textures, brushes &etc. I had a ton of fun making them and, as I couldn’t decide which one is my favouritest, I made all 8 commons so they may be loved and shared alike – I hope they make you smile! 😀
All Expo gachas donate 50% of their proceeds to RLF.
You can find my gacha here – and peruse the gacha shopping guide for the rest of the amazing items on offer at the Expo Gacha Park.
My last release for the Expo is for the hunt and it is a special colour version of my owls series that will only be available during this event – I’ll be retiring it once the hunt is over so that it will be a unique item for the 2016 Expo:
The Hunt runs for the duration of the expo and hunt prizes cost 10L each, with all proceeds being donated.
Hunt objects are hidden in each participating designer’s area (my area is here) – you can read more about it, see prize previews on the Expo blog.
Today is the grand opening of the Relay For Life SL Home & Garden Expo! Ten sims of the best Home & Garden designers for you to explore, new Gachas to play & an opportunity to donate to RFL when you purchase store exclusives. Many amazing new home releases there, hope you’ll check it out! From irrie’s Dollhouse:
